ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Coolant flow order

Lesson learned: take pictures or otherwise make diagrams of which coolant hoses go where. I'm in the process of installing my H23 IM into my '93 LX. I'm in the last stages of this installation, namely attaching coolant hoses. The intake manifold has three coolant hoses.
One of these is large and goes to the thermostat, got that.
    The other two are smaller.

What is the proper order for flow of coolant? The H23 throttle body doesn't have coolant going through it, and I am temporarily bypassing the FITV (until i can find one!).

My understanding is that the coolant, with respect to the smaller diameter hoses, flows from the top smaller hose of the thermostat. From here it would go to the throttle body (FITV on the H23), then to the upper small hose of the IM, then the lower, then the IACV, then back into the lower small diameter coolant hose of the thermostat. Is this correct?

    Thanks

im personally only using the IACV and have everything else capped off. anyways the way the coolant works on the FIV is it flows from the head to the FIV then to the thermostate. The FIV is basically just a thermostate for idle and is not really needed the IACV will do all the work. i would just leave it bypassed.

thanks. I'll leave it bypassed for now and see how it goes. Time for me to finish up this job

The FITV is completely blocked off. Even with just the IACV connected, the idle behaves no differently than before. I think I'll machine a plate and leave the FITV covered for good, unless I manage to acquire one for very little cost.

I had some issues with the h23 plenum, make sure the air boost is hooked up to your air pipe and not directly to vacuum, and make sure you idle screw is tight. Flow on the IACV is in through the right, and out through the left.

Thanks. The idle and everything is fine now.
Starting air valve is connected to the intake as it was before.
