ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Found Cigarette lighter problem! READ!

Well, I looked at 99% of the threads here about the mystery the cigarette lighter problem. IF any one has a cigarette lighter that they depend on like cell phone charger, accessory power supply (interior lights/underground lights...etc), electric tire pump (bycicle pump) or just simply used to light a cig and they go to plug it up and nothing happens, its a very inconvenient! well, if you look under your hood into the fuse box located on the passanger side firewall, you should see a label on top that says "[interior light]", that fuse should be BLOWN. If it is, change it out obviosly (and dont put a higher amp fuse cause that could burn up your wires going to the outlet and would cause a bigger problem) and it should work again...if it isn't blown, and your cig lighter still doesn't work...I'm sorry buddy..try again lol.

Hope this helps out...if not, I hate waste another thread lol

theres not really that much that cna go wrong with an accesory socket. it needs 12v in, and a ground. a blown fuse is 99% of the culprit most of the time.

True! But there has been many instances where a "acc" outlet has gone out and its frustrating to figure where the break is LOL

Your contacts inside the socket are most likely rusted/corroded. The cigarette lighter uses the metal ring around it as the contact so it has a much larger area to make contact with.
The charger only uses a small prong on one part. Most likely there is a spot in your socket that is not rusted that is making contact with the lighter but the charger is not touching that part.
Replace the socket and it will fix your issue. It is very cheap and easy to do.

                TRUE!! VERY TRUE!

ONE WAY TO see if this is the problem, stick your charger back in the socket and spin it around...if it turns off and on while your spinning it, or if in one spot its on and when you spin it to another spot its off...more than likely it is rusted/corroded. OR just get a flash light and shine it in the socket, look in there and see for yourself if theres any rusted/corroded. you will be able to notice

INSTEAD of replacing it, try getting some sand paper (not too rought) and stick it in and spin it to try to get the rusted/corroded off....therefore making good mating surface.

If that doesnt work...THEN try to replace it if you want to dare lol its hard unless your good with that stuff...I beleive you can get one at that TAS Auto .com....I would suggest to go to the junk yard BUT their's is probably more rusted lol...let us know whats up!

YES you are correct, there is a fuse box in the kick panel on the driver side...but there is no "interior light" in that fuse box. only under the hood....

I could be wrong but I checked this after noon and the busted fuse was under the hood where it said "interior light".

                  I SHOULD CLEAR MYSELF UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am ASSuming that the "Interior light" and the "cigarette Lighter" are connected because when my interior light went out, my cig lighter did too. I didnt relize that untill I checked all my fuses and the only fuse busted was the one that said "[interior light]"...so I checked to see if the interior light worked and it didnt. I didn't think if I changed the fuse the cig light would work though, but it did...LUCKLY Because thats the only reason why I was searchign for a busted fuse...I needed my cell phone charger lol

PLUS I dont think there is a fuse FOR the Cig Lighter...thats why I am posting this thread...maybe honda just didnt have a seperate fuse for the cig lighter and didnt specify it anywhere that the interior light and the cig lighter are connected to the same fuse...

                  MINE was evidently

See if the polarity is correct, center pin + ; outer sleeve - .. the lighter doesnt care about the polarity, the charger will.

How about a way to fix the broken cig lighter mount? Every damn CB I've owned has had a broken one..
