Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    Can I please get some help with...?

    I can understand why on a hot day my car would not start.. I'm trying to figure out what could be wrong with my main rely. Can somebody tell me if it could be that (main rely) or could it be the tranmisson? The reason I say tranny is because sometimes when it doesn't start the D4 light starts blinking also. I have notice sometimes when I start, I listen for this sort-of clicking sound thats associated with a what seem to me a pump or something like that.. please help me figure out what causes these problems.. I have tried to replace the main rely but its expensive and I don't think its that or not.

    Putting my 2 cents in alright, anybody have change for a half penny? Ok that didn't make cent.. WTF?

    On hot days there were times when my accord wouldn't start right away. It would just crank and crank. Eventually it would fire right up, but sometimes it would take longer than others.

    I replaced my main relay and haven't had an issue since. I think it was around $45.

    There is a fix for main relays if you're good with a de-soldering tool and a solder gun. I don't have the link to it, but I'm sure someone here does.

      for the starting issue. Definitely the main relay. As for your trans D4 light blinking, If you can, try and pull the code and look it up. It could be something as simple as changing your TCU or it could be shift solenoids. Or the fluid could just need changing if you get lucky.

      Whats the condition of the fluid? is it pinkish red? or is it brownish and smells burnt?

        the D4 light is...

        That light has a mind of it own because I did change that fliud and the same problem. It has to be the TCU.. I did find a problem where the plug on top of the tranmission where the two tits are was broken but I thought I fix it and I was wrong because the light still feels like it has to remind me that it something else. I don't know what the hell it is but I will try anything you guys can help me with. Hey thanks for the input on the starting issues, I do feel it has to be the rely, all else is good I do need to change my oil but it only been 4,120 miles on royal purple 5w 30.. Hey is it possible to take the oil pan off and clean it? The reason I ask this nub ? is because after 14 years I think I need a over hual on my engine. The seal and hoses and all the other shit need to be redone and replaced. I just need some advice on it ok, somebody please inform me on what should I get and what should I do to make her run 10 times better. She run ok now but I can tell things or getting bad because when I want to go faster to pass someone up and it takes me to press the gas down almost to the floor just to change gears or sometimes I would do it manually. It suck but I won't give up on her at all. I know she can do alot better and I will make sure!

          The D4 light indicates an error code. Jump the service connector and pull the code... that will tell you the problem, rather than just assuming and replacing parts that don't need to be replaced.

          As for the starting issue, the main relay is a common culprit, as said above. You may also have issues with your igniter, coil, or battery cables. Clean the cables where they meet the battery, and replace the coil and igniter.

            I found it!

            I found the problem with my car, I was sitting in car the other day and I was just trying to figure out what the hells wrong with this thing. So I started the car and play with the ignition alittlbe bit and I notice the main reley wasn't kicking in, with the whole starting system. Ok So heres what I did, I email a honda specialist I knew in CALI, and he told me that he could order me a main reley and coil together for really cheap. So I told him what my problem was exactly, he said that the main reley is just one issue with the year of my car because of so many other recalls. He told me that I needed to upgrade my ECU and then up grade my TCU, Then after that he told me to buy another car, because it not worth the trouble of replacing each part that goes wrong with her. I told him F--K THAT! I have alot of money tied to this piece of sh-t. Please don't talk me into selling her. I told me DUDE GET A H22 HEAD AND GET A 5 SPEED LSD TRANNY WITH SOME MINOR BOLT ONS AND BE HAPPY! thats it end of story so if someone here is selling parts, please message me with prices ok. If for some reason no one here does not have parts and it not legal for me to ask on this web then for that I apologize. I just need help to keep her running ok

              Your "specialist" is a douchebag. You can go buy both of those parts at your local part store for really cheap. There's no reason to upgrade the ECU until you're getting into some serious tuning. Getting an H22 head will not make you happy at all. Look around the site and you'll see a lot of build options. And you are not allowed to buy or sell in the beginner forum. Your best bet to get the most use from the site is to go read the stickies (beginning of each section), they'll answer most of your questions and save you a lot of trouble

                if you turn the key to the start position n you dont hear the fuel pump, then its time to replace it
