Main and rod bearings

Hello, I am currently building an f22a to put in my accord, and when I called the Honda dealer near me, they said that in order to order rod and main bearings I needed the color off of the back side of the bearings, so I looked and they were all around the same then when I called back I spoke to the parts manager and they said that I needed the numbers off of the crankshaft, so i recorded any and all numbers off of the crankshaft which ended up being D M and 3, they still did not know which bearings I needed. I really dont know who else to ask, does anyone know what bearings I need for rebuilding the f22a4, there was no crankshaft wear or visible bearing wear on the ones I took out, but I am raising the compression so I wanted to get new bearings. Any help would be appreciated.

you could get new rod bearings and crankshaft bearings. i could get you rod bearings. their going to cost you 8 bucks per rod + shipping for all. i dont have crankshaft bearings

You will have to clean your crank with some brake cleaner or something. The numbers will be very faint, on the end of the crank(not the flywheel side)

Bearings can vary depending on wear as well. The different colors are different thicknesses. Measuring would be your best bet. (Joser, you know more about this than I do... If I'm wrong, please correct me!)

Thanks, By measuring them I am assuming you mean with a micrometer thickness wise at the center, or edge? If I have time at my lunch break and were not busy today Im going to try to get the crankshaft up to the honda store and let them find the #'s.. if that is not successful Ill just measure them and see if I can order them by dimension.

No, you need to measure your clearances and make sure they're within spec. You can't just go and slap on a set of "standard" bearings.
