Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    window motor help

    My car is a '90 EX sedan. The driver side front window doesn't work because the motor is shot. It just makes a horrible howling sound & doesn't turn, in or out of the car. The regulator seems to work perfect. So I'm looking to buy a replacement motor. tasauto shows OEM to be $182. At that price I would have to keep it ghetto manual like it is now. Without the motor installed the spring holds the window wherever I push it down to! LOL

    On ebayz there is a regulator + motor for $39 shipped. Sounds awsome to me but it has a note that it fits the Japan built sedan/wagon. I havn't been able to find anything on the car saying where it was actually built. Is there actually a difference to the regulators or not? I'm thinking that the fitment note is just some weirdness added to the listing.

    Do you think the regulator will work ok?

        @ randomcustoms - I'll check the VIN for it, thanks for the tip! That's cool you're in Tulsa. cb7emokid is from the area as well!

        @ 1990Ex - You can take the motor out easy enough and just push/pull it up by hand. It's been getting me by but I got paid yesterday. So time to fix it.

                I might start using the sun roof for drive thru & tolls. Might make the highway time more interesting. The other 3 windows & roof work great. Just the one dud. :/

                  my driver side window just went out!!

                  dude my window is doing the same thing.. its like a whining/grinding noise..i took it out and it worked fine... but when i put it back in it started that noise again.. i think my track or the guides are keeping the window from coming up.. i will have to check again. my friend said take out the windo and leave the track in and see if the track in moving up and down ACCORDingly and if it is then its the guides that guide the window, if the motor still makes that noise and doesnt allow the track to go up or down its most likely the track. but he said make sure you watch the track and look closely to make sure.. hope this helps you out.. I sure would hate for you to buy another window regulator if you never needed it.

                    oh yeah when you check it, leave the motor and everything assembled when you check.. just take out the WINDOW by ITSELF and then do what i said in the previous post.. sorry if you didnt understand me earlier i just got off work and im tired.

                      You should've posted that earlier! My window wouldn't go down and my dumbass took out the window and regulator and motor. Then when I figured out it was my switch I couldn't get the motorback on the regulator. That's wat happens when I try to be mr.fix it

                      Ordering new reg. And motor tomorrow as well as a new switch. U have any tips for install so I won't mess it up... again? Lol

                        Thanks for the trouble shooting help!

                        My case it's definatly the motor though. Does the same thing on the bench - just makes noise. The regulator & guides seem good because the window goes up and down easy enough by hand. I don't really want to replace the regulator, but for the prices given it doesn't make sense for me to pay a lot more for just a motor. Thought about hitting up the yards but it's been raining here for a week. They are probably the muddy suck. And used may or may not be good.

                          I have a motor that I took out of my back Driver's side door I could part with. I don't need the back windows to go down lol.

                              will the back motor swap with the front? I need the front one.

                              Not directly, but by switching the ends maybe?
