It's very similar to the H22. Overall, the H22 makes more sense as far as the cost and the powerband go. The only real benefit to the F20B, other than being unique, is the higher redline.
The F20B was created by Honda so they could enter the SiR-T into a 2.0L racing class. The engine had to be a production model, so they released it to the public. It's an engine purposely built with a displacement limitation.

There's just as much potential with the F20b as there is with the H22. Saying it's "inferior" is just your opinion, some other's will feel the same, some will completely disagree. Not that the F20B is a bad motor. It's far from bad. It's quite good, actually... but the important thing is to get the motor that best fits what you want in YOUR car... not basing the decision by what everyone else has in theirs. Getting a motor because everyone else has something else is as dumb as getting a motor because everyone else has it.
