ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

so as my familys friend mechanic is driving my car he notices a sound under the passenger side dash. it was the sound of a bad window regulator..you know the grinding sound...well this was under the dash and its pretty loud he let me here it over the phone. any ideas as to what it could be? oh and when he turned the fan switch off the sound didnt go away so i know its not the blower motor.which was replaced like last summer.

The blower motor still spins with the fan off whenever the key is turned on, though at a very low speed. You'll notice that even with the switch turned to "off", there is a slight amount of air moving from the vents.

It's this positive ventilation thing that's supposed to prevent suffocation/carbon monoxide poisoning. You may need to see if there's anything touching/clogging the blower motor, like a leaf/straw, etc, or possibly the motor's bearings gone and the blower wheel is hitting the case.

you think it would make that loud of a sound. like i mean the sounds is like... if it is the blower motor... its turned on high and not like the low speed your talking about. its a pretty rapid clicking/grinding sound.

the sound should change with the fan speed. it's probably the fan like said, because it's the only thing that moves under the dash. maybe an angry rat chewing on wires tho. you never know about those things

oh heat is amazing. i actually have a overheating problem. thats the orginal reason why its there. it loses fluid.. but pressure test says its good..t stat works because the lower hose is hot as well as the top. there does seem to be rad fluid where the w/p is but the pressure test says no leak...well very slow leak..but im losing a good amount. i have to put like a pint a week! my car = problem prone.

it could be the fresh air/recirc button. There's a motor that turns those vents to allow fresh or recirc. air into the cabin. Mine got jammed when Honda replaced my blower motor. So I just left it on recirc for the longest time. I finally got the ballz to take it all apart and I found that that was the problem. What that motor does is turn a system of levers to open and close the vents, pretty complex actually.

When the vents get jammed in between those two modes, it sounds like plastic blades hitting something right? Its a bitch to get to unfortunately. You'd have to remove the blower motor to see it and fix it. Sounds to me like its stuck in between. Try hitting the bottom of the blower motor with your hand a couple times to see if you can bump it back into place.
