ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

On the backside of the brake pedal there is a switch. From the factory, CB's had a blue plastic piece that pressed in the switch. Over time, it deteriorates and falls off. Just got a nut/bolt to replace it.

Hardest part is looking for it. You have to lay your head down (where you feet go) and look up under the dash. It's "fun".

Your brake light switch under the brake pedal is stuck or broken

It could be the switch, or the little nub that presses the switch. The nub on my wife's 89 civic dx sedan broke off at the beach, and her lights were doing the same thing, I put a penny over the hole and wrapped it with duct tape a few rounds, it's been good for 2.5 years now.

The same thing has happened to me today. I went to a doctor's appointment early in the morning and all was fine. When I arrived at work later and parked the car......the tail lights were still lit. I thought I left the lights on since it's been a rainy day......but that was not the case. I had no choice to disconnect the battery.

I was thinking along the lines of the brake switch behind the pedal since I remember changing it many years ago on a Camry. Will low brake fluid also cause that or is that only for the dash light?

Like everyone else said, it's probably the switch.

its not the switch, its the rubber part, just replace it with a bolt and a locknut , or just go junkyard get it, most honda has that, i got like 10 of them, lol , it works for brake and clutch

If you look at my last post.......today (after 5 months) I finally got to fixing this issue. Gotta admit......bolt / nut combo worked flawlessly. Took me about 5 minutes.

Many many thanks to Josh and Sleeper for suggesting an alternative.......it saved me from going out to the dealer and buying a switch.
