ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Oil light briefly flashes when car starts

When i get in my car to start it i turn the key to eccesorie and all the lights come on (battery, check engine, oil, etc) then i turn the key to start the car and the oil light quickly flashes once or twice emmidiately after starting (unlike everything else which shuts off after starting). I have plenty of oil in it but i was just wondering why its doing this. Thanks guys. 91 Lx f22a1.

the oil sensor is basically an on off switch. id say more likely the wiring. check the single wire that goes to it. happened to me once and when the engine would shake the wire was grounding out and making it flash.

sounds like normal operation to me though

It could be, ive just never noticed it before. When i start it its on for a brief second (as is the check engine, battery etc), then it shuts off real quick blips back on and stays off.. I do have an oil leak somewhere that ive had for atleast a year (ive owned it that long) but i don't know where. It uses about a quart a month or less depending on how far i drive. At first i thought it was just my dizzy oil seal, so i replaced that and it seemed like the oil didnt move for a good month, now its dripping down from around the dizzy again and getting all over my tranny (smell bad on the exhaust). But i think i have another leak somewhere else above my exhaust behind the engine...

happens to me when i run a non-oem filter and when im below the full line on the oil dip stick.

which sucks because i have to change my oil filter tomorrow and i only have half a quart of oil left tocompensate.

Well, i'll try adding oil so its right at or a hair above the full. As for oem filters, im not even sure what i use, but its not oem.

I would try the looking at the oil pressure sending unit before doing anything.
