hard to shift

my 90 cb has been really hard to shift lately....ive narrowed it down to the shifter itself cause ive checked everything else.......when putting it into 1st and 2nd its like its getting stuck and then goes in gear real hard...when i come to a stop and try to put it back in 1st to take off i pretty much have to fight it in gear...it has a new clutch,flywheel,master/slave cylider,i bled the lines and the only thing it could be is the shifter...anyone else having this porblem and how can i fix it?

it only does it half the time other times its like butter to shift it....other half i have to force it in gear

i had the same problem once,found that my heater hose on top of the trans was hitting on the shift linkage.use a zip tie around the hose to hold it up.

check the two shifter cables...

sounds like somethings interfering with the cables. also, it wouldn't hurt to replace your tranny fluid if you haven't done so recently

Just had this problem on a friends car you might wanna check into the clutch again... Cause if its not relesing all the way its gonna be hard to put into gear cause the clutch disk is still parshally staying engauged and all the rest of the gears are gonna work fine cause you are already moving and you are RPM shifting it so check into that as well good luck hope you get it fixed!

well just 4 weeks ago i checked and changed the tranny fluin....and its not the heater hose cause i already checked and its not touching at all.....and my clutch is fine so i have no fucking clue except to try to adjust the shift cables.....ill try that and let u guys know what happedn lol

if its intermittent id go with clutch or bent shift linkage in or on the tranny. i doubt its shift cables. What you describe though is really sounding like clutch not actuating enough. what kind of clutch is it?
