ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Alright, update.

So, took all the plugs out. Turned it over a few times. For at least 6 seconds. Put all new plugs back in, it was fine. Drove about...110 miles last night, drove fine. Woke up earlier, went to drive home.....boom. Tries to stall out. Running like a Wrx again. Go to pull the #3 plug out, it's fine? #2's fine. #4's fine. This time, it's #1!! Changed the plug, did good on the way home for about 4 miles. Wrx again. Changed the plug again, 1 minute later.......Wrx. Finally, took the plug out, started the car, then turned it off. Put a new plug back in, ran fine for the rest of the 6 miles home. We're going to do a compression test right now, not sure how that would help. I'd check the timing, but that shit's so confusing.

Did a Compression test. #4 was 178. #3, 2, and 1 was 175. Not sure if the compression being good in all cylinders, can lessen down the possibilities of what it could be?

That's what I'm sayin'. I checked the codes, and there's nothing. CEL hasn't come on during this issue, but I checked the codes anyway and it's clear. It does take a bit to start up when it's sat over night. Today it was 60 degrees out, and it took at least 4-5 seconds to start. I heard that could be a timing issue, also. I just have no idea how the timing being off a bit, is literally power bombing a plug.

I checked all the gaps on the plugs today, they're all set at .44. My neighbor has a timing light, but when I check inside the block where it's at, I don't see any marks on the drive plate except for a blank spot. This is what I was checking out.

didn't think they cam off it might be a defect from the factory but he has changed them again and again and the problem is still there

I don't think so. I got the belts changed and stuff right before the engine was dropped. I mean, I know that doesn't mean they aren't loose, but if they were loose, it'd probably be a lot worse than it is. If the timing was that bad, wouldn't the car spit and sputter at all times? There's times (like right now), that the car runs like a champ. No problems at all. But out of freakin' nowhere, it goes from full power coasting to jumping, sputtering, shaking, no power.

The #3 plug, slowly went bad. This #1 plug, is going straight to foul. It doesn't give a spit here and there, like #3. #3's fine now. Now, #1 fouls right out. I'm on my way to my buddies house to check the timing, so hopefully that's the problem. Also, my distributor is all the way retarded. I can only Advance it, so hopefully that's what would need to be done. Maybe he has some knowledge on setting the timing.

Yea, we checked the gap on all 4 before we put them in this time. They're all at .44, but I haven't driven it yet. It's only idled, but it was idling perfect.
