ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Engine setups advice/help 2.0SC or 2.2 N/A mods

Let me first of say, that I know a lil stuff here and there about what i'm going to ask, i just want opinions on which one of the setups i should go with. Let me first put in the affecting factors before anyone jumps to conclusions as to why the specific setup.

    1) I live in jamaica so its not like there is alot of highways unless cross-country driving.

    2) I live in the city but it isn't heavily congested unless its morning-rush, lunch-time or head home from work-time.

    3) There are alot of straightaways and various roads though, so dont think that there isn't any room to do anything or fully test the cars capabilities.

    4) THIS IS NOT FOR DRAG RACING ITS NOT FOR ANYTHING OF THAT SORT...what it is for is that its an everyday driver but every weekend or some point in time during the week that little venom for speed starts flowing through the veins. And every once in a while there's cross-country bullruns. Also sprints from point A to B with some close friends *devil*

With all that in order, let me give my cars specs: '91 JDM CB3, F20a1 SOHC non-vtec carburetor, auto.

Finally the setups i am choosing from;(i left out some nitty-gritty details {eg. cams, rods, etc} because of laziness but what u see there sticks out the most in my mind i dont know why, sorry).

1)- H22a, DC2-R tranny, 2.5" inch exhaust piping, cold air intake.

2)- B20z block with B18c5 head, DC2-R tranny, 2.0" or 2.25" (not sure yet) piping, SC14 supercharger @ 11psi (the intercooler is going to be front mounted).

    My conlcusion:

    1) for a comparison in power they should be nearly the same if not the B20 setup should have more. If anything the b20 is mostly using DC2-R internals

    2) I notice that ever since being on this site i havent found anyone who has done any type of b20 setup. i'm kinda wondering why.

    3) i've been around both blocks both turboed tho, but the person i know that has the h22a, DAMN! its a BeAsT! compared to the b20.

    4) i know that the h22a is only 35lbs heavier than the b20 but what difference will that make in my CB3 in terms of handling/manueverabilty.

    5) i've been thinkin about supercharging the h22 but i've heard stories about the "H" being way more of a gas-guzzler over the "B". Dont think i should believe it though. Also parts for the "H" aren't as easily accessable as the "B".

    6) Say i did just the B20z/b18c5 without the SC would power be the same just as the H22a?

    7) If my overall thread seems like i'm bashing the "H" slightly i'm not (my apologize if that thought has come to you) its only because i know more about the "B" over the latter.

thanks much for all advice. Please try to answer all my pending questions.

1 nice setup but why the teg tranny??? h22 tranny is plenty short
2 what body are you going to put this in good luck on mounts for a accord but yes it will be quick but the h22 will still make more torque unless you use type r guts
1 yes the same but more stress on the b than a normal engine body combo
    2 it is like puting a d16 in a 96 teg you just don't
3 i think you answered all your questions
4 none at all and like i said good luck on mounts and if you don't sc that motor it will be slow in that body imo
5 yes there are more parts for a b than a h both both drink gas when boosted and with a heavy foot
6 yes but lacking torqe it just isn't worth the trouble of mounts and making a frank than is inferior to the h22
    7. bash the h or bash the b but you are talking about a b in a cb3 whick is a bigger body than a teg but smaller than a crv but the gear of the crv is tall as the teg is short what you are talking about doing is the same as puting a super chared d16 in a teg seems dumb right.

not tring to be a dick man

the money you are going to spend you might consider a k24/k20 swap instead

And Integra/Civic parts are going to require CONSIDERABLE fabrication and custom work. Mounts, wiring, axles, shift linkage... it's a major headache.

If you want something that won't require significant modification, get an H22A with a matching LSD transmission.

H and F series motors, and the transmissions that come on them, are your friends.
