Which head is better ? I have a 91 LX with a F22A1 bottom end and a F22B2 head with a cast manifold and T3T4 turbo running 9psi , 2.75 in exhaust shop exhaust . I have a chipped ECU running on crome . 255 fuel pump and 450 DSM injectors . I'm planning a new engine build for this winter and need help with an idea I have . I would like to sleeve it , take the displacement down to 2.0 and get the RPM's up to around 9K . At the time that I do the new engine I had planned on changing to the F22B1 V-TEC head because I thought that it would be better for the higher RPM's , but it seems that allot of people here believes the A1 head is better . I have no idea on what pistons , rods , crank would be necessary for this or even if there are any such parts made . It's just an idea for an engine that I have had and I'm starting my research here , with this post . I do plan on lowering the displacement with bore and not stroke as I think it would give me more strength in the cylinder and allow me to run higher boost . As you might have already guessed , I only know enough about engines to get me in over my head . I hope this gets the ball rolling , I figure I have 5 months to get the parts spec'd out and that will put me into cold weather and time for a winter project . I have my flame suit on , so let me know if I'm on the right track or completely going in the wrong direction .

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

A1 , B1 and B2 heads

The A1 head is superior by far.
Its port angles are similar to the F20C, the S2000 engine.
The B1 and B2 heads I believe had vtec, yes, but were made for fuel economy rather than performance...vtec can go two ways. The don't flow as well either. There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to change the head the distributor and go to an external coil to use the turbo I had . I had a complete F22B2 engine I had gotten in trade and I pulled the head and distributor from it in order to complete my turbo install . I also had to use the F22B2 intake mani on the F22B2 head and some other stuff , but I don't know what all of the rest .There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!
