ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Auto to 5 Speed conversion

How hard is it to convert an auto over to a 5 speed? About to do to a swap to a h22 and would rather have a manual than auto. And it is it extremely costly?

yeah it's definitely gonna cost you a pretty penny. when i had my accord i was gonna do the same thing but decided otherwise. the only way to beat the price is to find a junk yard with parts from a wrecked 5-speed cb7 and get all the stuff you need. that's what's gonna cost you the most (other than the engine of course). and if you're doing the work yourself it's gonna be a little time consuming but you'll definitely save some money there. good luck man...be sure and let us know how it goes

Its not hard to convert over to 5speed if you have all the parts.
As far as cost, you usually have people parting out their cars in the classifieds for pretty good prices.
I got everything need for a 5spd swap for $150 minus the tranny, clutch and flywheel.
So it all depends where you look.

I was thinking about doing this to my cb when I get a new f22a6. But it seems like a whole lot of trouble...

On a scale from 1-10 I would rate it a 7. You have to do your research!!!! If you got ALL of your parts it will go like clockwork! The major hassle to me was the mounting situation. You have 3 options:

          1. Either weld on a MANUAL BRACKET from a 5spd car because your automatic bracket WILL NOT line up with your trans mount.

          2. You stated you are going to use an H22 engine and trans. If you was to grab a Prelude trans mount you can drill and tap the holes on your H22 trans to mate with the mount. Then your auto bracket will line up correctly with the prelude mount. I know its more to it than what I stated but I Think I did hit on the major concept.

          3. Purchase the ESP mounts. These mounts are very strong and will just bolt right up with no alignment problems. No need to worry about motor mounts for a long time.

These 3 options I thinks are the only ones available for the mounting situatio n. Once again, I highly recommend you do a ton of reseach before you attempt to do this. I did. and with a lot of blood, sweat and tearsI got very impressive results!!!!
