ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Balance shaft eliminator kit

Has anyone installed one of these? What difference did it make? Did it run rough?

I'm in the process of rebuilding a F22A4 and wanted to find out if it's worth it.

    Sold!

    Selling: F22A4(disassembled)

Everyone is going to have different opinions on this dude, some say it will increase wear on the engine due to excess vibrations, others says its worth teh extra 3-5whp. I personally think if the rotating assembely is balanced properly it shouldn't be an issue. So it all depends on how far you personally want to go with your build and whats important to you.

You can also run it without the belt altogether, as the balance shafts will not rotate without a belt there.

But the rear shaft and oil pump are driven together right? So if you cut/remove the belt you don't have an oil pump.

          No, that is not correct.

I eliminated mine and have fantastic oil pressure.

              Thanks for the great input.

Guess I will leave this on.

This will be my daily driver and it is there for a reason right.

Asking because when I got the front & rear shaft seals from the dealership the rear shaft seal was labeled "front oil pump seal". The guy at the counter showed me the exploded view of everything and pointed out a square shaped gasket that goes behind the oil pump. As that showed there is a squareish gasket, then the oil pump, the front gasket, then the gear assembly that the balance shaft belt turns.

The oil pump is not controlled by the balance shaft belt, it is a function of the crank.

Myself and countless others do not have the belt in place and our motors run, and have oil pressure, therefore, as stated, the oil pump is not controlled by the balance shaft belt.

It results in a somewhat faster revving engine and a somewhat higher oil pressure. Mine is much higher now, but I also had an oil leak on the previous motor.
