ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    DC Header compatibility question

    Hi guys!
    Quick question:

I have a stock header that goes like this: 4 - 1, where the pipe before the flex pipe is single channel.

Now, I want to replace this with a DC sports header that it seems is 4 - 2 - 1 where the pipe goes from 2 channels into 1 at the flex pipe.

Ummm... is that OK? There shouldn't be any fitment problems, right?

Why not just put a complete DC Sports header in?

That's what I mean... sorry if not clear...

As I understand the DC should come with a downpipe (aka pipe A)... so it doesn't matter what the pipe was originally, right?

        See, that's what I have on my odd-spec CB7:

you may have to get it customly fitted at a shop for it to fit on the felx pipe, i would get one of those braided steel style flex pipes.

OK first question, do you have stock exhaust? If yes, then have no worries, the DC Sprts header will bolt right up to your exhaust no problem.

              O-Oh... not good...
I thought this was similar flange/bolt pattern...

Yes yes, stock all the way through. Even the rust is stock

Sorry to be so panicky, but I am on the verge of ordering a header, and this being EU, I don't have that many cheap parts to pick and choose from. For example the mentioned header costs some $400 here and is the only performance header available, so I'm making double sure I won't have to return it. I had to return a p12 ECU to the US because it didn't work with my CB and it was a bit of a hassle... so, you know...

The DC will work. Why did you have to return the P12? It shouldv'e worked, or at least to my knowledge it should have.

My CB is a jap/aussie kind spec for the middle east where emissions didn't apply so it has no O2 sensor (and EGR, secondaries). Instead it has an Idle Mixture Adjuster.
The ECU didn't see the sensor and threw a code, giving the engine a default mixture...

Yes the Header will work. The header should come with a flex pipe made on it if. If it doesnt...dont buy it.

The guy above me talking about having to get a flex pipe is wrong. The header will just bolt up.

It will come with an O2 sensor hole, just get a short bolt and plug it. I wouldn't get it welded over in case you ever wanted to sell it.

My plan exactly - I'll bolt up the O2 sensor holes with a matched bolt and some sealant.

Selling... don't plan to because I just dished out a lot of cash for it, and there are very few people here to sell it to, so...
