ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Tire size help for most

So i work at a tire shop, and i get bored easily. So I pulled in my CB and tried tires on for fun. Unaware the stock EX wheels were only 5.5 wide and not 6 wide like my meshies were. 195's are perfect fit. Which is okay but i wanted to try 205's but sadly they are too wide. They fit on the wheel and bead seats, but the tread mushrooms over and would be less helpful. As for aspect ratio, 60 series sidewalls are what comes factory. Meh...ghey. SO i tried 55's and 50's. a 195 50 is way better on the stock wheel performance wise than anything ive found so far. Only problem is, if youre looking for a dumped cb with tucked tire, probably stick to the 60's. If youre looking for in between, 55's will serve you right. If anyone has questions about tires and such lmk. I also tried on a set of 17 inch hyperblack konig runaways with a 2154017 tire. Fit perfect, im just not into that big of a wheel. It was a 17X7 with a 40 offset.

By far the best tyre I've yet found that actually comes in the stock size (195/60/15) is the BFG g-Force Sport.

You can't fit 195/55 (or lower profile) on the stock rims without significantly affecting speedometer accuracy, which will create legal issues just about anywhere...
    Regards from Oz,
    John.

Google miata tire calculator if you're worried about accuracy and just be aware that it will read slightly off.

IMO 205/55/15 is the best size on OEM wheels.

I found a set of 240sx wheels at the JY the other day. I too work at a tire place, Discount tire....don't get bored easily though since I'm always bustin' ass all day....we're busy as hell all the time it seems. Anyways, those wheels fit perfect, offset is good and they're a 15x6 wheel so I think I might be able to put 205's on there. But I was just gonna use them for road trips and stuff, so I won't wear out my 215s on there. They came w/ 195 60 15s but they were junk so I had to toss em.

the hub on the 240 rim is wider so you have to make sure and have tapered lug nuts
