ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I've ran about 45,000 miles on my car with an air breather on the corner that connects to the intake tubing, and no sign of anything bad from it. Might have to change it here and there, cause it'll eventually get oil on it.

Not necessarily. I use one, and so does a billion other people.

Hell, i'm still using one for my boost application....

People say "oh no, it's bad. It needs this type of air from the intake". uh, air is air.

When it's hooked up to the intake, the vacuum pulls blowby out of the crankcase. It does not put air into the crankcase, it pulls it out.

well for what i remember comin out the club one night I hit 110 or so and my car turn into a cloud of smoke and when I got to my destination I open the hood and there was oil splatter everywhere from the breather. IMO not worth it , I really did'nt feel/saw any difference. Except the mess I had to clean up

              It's not a performance mod....

Your car turning into a cloud of smoke from attempting to top it out could be a billion other reasons.

my car never did that before until I put the breather and I hit 120 a few times I only put it in because it was new and free

maybe you should switch to an oil catch can instead? i'm thinking of putting one in there the DIY method since it looks neater.

honestly it does affect it...not at first but when you get oil in there it starts problems... i just had this problem i made a oil catch and hooked up the vacuum stuff and it was fixed. and ya its not a performance mod. lol. bottom line is, if you dont mind changing the oil breather every now and then its not really a problem.

umm?... I never got to see the diy .But that sounds like a better idea than breather.BTW I don't have that car anymore NJ impound killed it, still have a coupe cb but w/ a h22. I wonder, could that DIY work on it?

For starters if you put the filter where it's supposed to go it shouldn't get oil on it. If it is, then you have other problems. A catch can is for the PCV valve, the filter is for the breather. The PCV valve expells air and the breather sucks air in. That's why a filter shouldn't be getting oil on it. My breather hose to my intake has ZERO oil on it .
