ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    High idle when Hot

I swapped over an h23 IM. I finally got every adjusted properly so when the car starts it idles at 12-1500rpm and warm 7-900rpm.

The other day I was stuck in some bumper to bumper traffic, it was probably 70 degrees out and I'd ride the clutch a little to move forward then depress it again and the idle would stay at 2000rpm.

So the next day I was at a red light and again, mid-day, suns shining, probably 65-70 degrees and I'm idling at 2000rpm.

I bled the coolant but it still does it.

    Any ideas?

Any ideas. I guess I'll screw with my TPS again. I hate playing with it.

Did you run your throttle cable a different way? As if it's getting stuck somehow? Mine did this when I ran my kickdown cable OVER my line that goes from the intake piping to the valve cover. You're a 5 speed though, so try checking if you need to loosen the cable a little where it's braced on the plenum with the adjusting bolts. Here's a thread with somewhat of the same problem. h22 though, but it should definitely help.

I would go over the base idle setup procedure. You should set TPS at 0.45V closed and be done with it. Make sure the readings smoothly increase to WOT (max. atleast 4.5V) Don't keep fooling around with it, otherwise that may be the source of your problem as you don't know what you're doing.

Yea I'll just do the whole procedure. I did it properly but I don't think I tightened it down enough because today it was idling high again and then it did the rev up/down business again.

          Thanks

This happened to me a while back when I was stuck in BAD bumper to bumper traffic for like an hour and a half. After like 30min my car started over heating so i pulled over and popped the hood. The only thing I saw was that my crappy expansion tank was leaking so i shut the car off and let it cool down. After that its never happened again and ive been stuck in worse traffic. Idk what the problem really was but ive found that if im careful with the clutch it doesnt happen.
