Distributor going bad???

Ok my girl's CB didn't start 2 nights ago, unfortunately i am away from home at the moment and, she called a friend who had suggested a local mechanic.

1st diagnostic was: the main relay, went to the Parts store an got a new one.
Did not start.
2nd diagnostic was: the igniter, got a new one.
Did not start.

the dude (supposedly a mechanic) ended up saying that it was the distributor. charging $100 + parts.

today i called a friend of mine who knows about cars, to go see it.
and he told me that the first 2 spark plugs are drown in oil. he tested if there was power going through the wires and all 4 were fine, he did not removed any of the spark plugs


anyone could give me a little advice here.

Ignition Coil or Fuel Pump

No Start - Ignition Coil
Start & Die when warm , will start again when cold - Igniter
No start , no relay click - Main Relay
No Pump Prime - Fuel Pump

test coil...the oil in spark plug tubes dont really cause a no start issue.

What are the symptoms besides just "no start?" What happens when you try starting it?

Spark + Fuel + Compression = Running Engine

Remove 1 of the 3 components and the car will not start at all.

Thanks for all the advice. My friend found the problem..... Engine blown!!!!!!!!!! aparently he took the valve cover off and found water in the oil... i guess i am getting a new engine.... any suggestions??????????

It is my girl's DD and the car still has a lot potencial. i been looking a couple engines on ebay. and there's 1 that i would like to get F22B.

compression can also be a substitue of spark...look at diesels.
