how much could i mill from my head and still be safe? i was thinking like .020 and have the head p/p,h23 im port matched,bisi im gasket,header or bisi header(if i can bring myself to pay $900),a6 cam or maybe a stage 1 bisi cam.

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

why do you want to mill the head? if its not much and basically a cleanup job then should be fine but i wouldnt suggest trying to raise compression by milling head.

Just be aware that if you warp the head, it is then garbage. They can only be milled so much.
But if you can do it free at your uncle's shop, then it's not a bad idea. If you ruin the head, you can just get another one!
I can't accurately answer your question, though, so I'm not going to try and end up giving you wrong information. Someone here will know better.

If you're too cheap to build the bottom end, then you don't need to focus on upping the compression too much. Stock bottom end components aren't meant to handle much beyond the stock compression. That being said, I'm not sure on what's the weak point on F22ax blocks, but the stock rods aren't beasts by any means.

Ive found that the f22ax weakness is the piston ring lands crack. havent seen many issues with rods and definatly none with the block.
