ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Why don't you want to buy Fram? Are the filters from Napa ok?

thats good, from what ive heard Royal Purple is good. but my buddies dad ran John Deere Diesel Oil in his Plymouth Cirrus and cleared the odometer(1,000,000 miles). I dont know how it performed but it ran for ever.

fram is made of cardboard...the filter is weak as well.

true many use it with no issues...but there are others who have issues...and the occurrence of problems is much more than acceptable IMO

I used them as well with no issues...but I saw another filter review (not that one above)....I will never buy fram oil filter again. VERY low quality, even their "higher" quality ones aren't any better.

I'm not an expert on oil filters, so I don't really have an opinion on whether or not Fram is as bad as people say. I read through the linked thread out of curiosity and I've got to say, it really isn't much of a source...if you read through all the replies in the thread, the reviewer pretty much is left with no credibility whatsoever.

there are other such links with better data...have to look for them...trust me...fram isn't good...

it won't kill your engine of course, like I said, i ran with them for a long time...but for your money you can get a MUCH better quality filter than cardboard fram. Do you really think cardboard + hot oil mix too well?

WOW never knew Fram used cardboard. That's what I've always used with no problems.

well that's not surprising, hell even bisi used them to break engine's in...but he didn't know about their construction either...so you can't just go off stuff like that.

honestly you could run them with no issues...but I just refuse to push my synthetic oil that lasts 15,000 miles through a cardboard constructed coffee paper filter...exaggeration...but still....they are shittly made and you can get better filter for similar price. I don't think fram has the anti-drain valve either.
