Gas Problem,Tank Not Filling

On Sat I put gas in the car NO prob. Sun comes around and I put gas in and the pump nozzle stops, I'm like wtf, when it stops it means ur tank is full, my tank is not full @ all. I went to 3 gas pumps all did this shit 2 me.

So when it stopped, I squeezed the handle and gas started poorin out the refill hole.

Its like something is blockin the flow of the gas I stuck a coat hanger in there I didn't feel anything.

There's no sign of forced entry around my gas lid, nothing its all good. Once the gas is backed up, it will go downnn slowwwwwy.

My car starts up, runs like a champ that she is, but I cant fill my tank for shit, wtf can b in there, I fig mayb something inside the nozzle fell in the hole, but when I stuck the coat hanger in I didn't feel anything.

u try pulling the gas pump out the tank alittle bit..? sometimes if its to far down it will stop

Try pulling up on the rubber piece that covers the gas nozzle. From what I see, the nozzle "feels" the pressure and if its high it stops the pump. I have to pull the rubber part of the nozzle up on the nozzle sometimes to let the gas fill up. BTW, what station did that happen at?

Sunoco 2x, and some other cheapy place 1x

I did remove the rubber, also I did jus put the nozzle half way in, still leaks.


Funny thing is, the car felt like it wanted 2 shut off @ idle, like I was runnin outta gas, so I kno I'm not full, wtf is goin on.

Are you sure that nothing is stuck inside there? Some little bastard kids stick crayons or sticks in your gas tank? All kidding aside though, check it out. Make sure nothing is blocking it.

That happen to me a month ago. I think i had air in the tank. So when i fill up i'll pull the rubber cover up a lil so the air can escape.

When I remove the cap usually I hear air come out, pass few days I won't hear nothing...

if your gas tank is almost empty, why dont you take it down and check it out and clean it out?

x2! I think that your tank is full but your needle doesn't work. Just small things like the needle not working properly could be the reason.

update

I poured gas in with 1 of them refill 1 gallon tanks.. And about a half gallon went in, and slowly started 2 back up. Mayb its not the needle after all. Any other idea's?


I never dropped my tank b4, I'm sure it isn't all hard. But is there a way a can @ least remove the refill hole and check the hose 2 c wats goin on.
