Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Opinions on exhaust setup

    with a megan header, magnaflow high flow cat, cheap catback (only using for piping), would a 3" universal oval exhaust be loud?

    its hard to tell what its gonna sound like before hand, it says sound absorbing, maybe itll be ok

      word. yeah, and it can't be any worse than my current setup. header to straight pipe. no resonator, no cat, anything. just random piping we found around my old schools auto shop. yikes.


      edit: oh, and no muffler lol

        By the looks of the muffler, you should definitely be okay. I'm pretty sure it's not hollow, with the size and all. Maybe you'll even be lucky, and it'll get rid of enough sound for you to hear the intake like mine did. I went from the header, straight back to a Raptor muffler. Wasn't loud at all, believe it or not. http://www.holley.com/50054FLT.asp

            Why do you need a 3" exhaust?

              3 inch is too big for a stock motor. If you are talking about switching out the piping too, you will loose torque. If you are talking about putting that on the stock piping, it will be a waste anyway because you will need to have some kind of increaser made to go from the smaller stock pipe to the 3"

                well, only the muffler would be 3". all the piping would be 2 1/4.. MAYBE, but doubtfully, 2 1/2.

                should i just go with the 2 1/2" in/out muffler? i really don't think it would make that much of a difference after the intermediate piping anyways... only thing that would really change is the sound.

                            I have this setup almost to a T. It sounds great driving around town, but when you get on the iterstate, its LOUD. I don't care though I love it
