ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    The auto takes more.

And what the fuck are you doing adding GEAR OIL to your tranny? Do you want to blow it up? I had a shop do that to mine, and it's royally screwed because of it.

Honda MTF or GM Synchromesh in Honda manual transmissions. Not thick gear oil. It will eat itself as that molasses heats up every morning!

10w30-40 engine oil also works for manual trans...Its what they used before mtf...Haynes says dexron II ATF for autos. So it will work..

I believe a yellow light simply indicates that you're at 7000 miles since the last service interval; a red light indicates 7500. Your local honda dealer will sell you their manual transmission fluid, which you really ought to use. I paid $6.88/quart. 284,000 miles and shifting like a champ with Honda MTF .

If you wish to change the TYPE of ATF you are using you would need to drain and refill a number of times. This is because when you drain your auto tranny fluid, you are only able to drain a portion of the fluid. The fluid sitting in the torque converter will stay there. Each time you drain and refill you are getting closer to 100 percent of the NEW type. Obviously, this can get expensive.

I really don't understand how "flushing" an auto transmission works so maybe there is a better way to COMPLETELY change the fluid type.

I just want to point out that you shouldn't think you are actually changing transmission fluid when you are only changing maybe half of it.

just do what they say, drain-fill-drive (x3). The plug is behind the front right tire, you might be able to do it w/o removing tire, but I did when I did mine.

I BLEW UP MY mt f22a1 trans. but before i did, i put lucus 80/90 gear lube. went to the track and blew up the diff. i have the half that i broke off, but junked the rest, now i have a f20b trans, with castrol 10w-30 full synthetic oil in my trans and it runs shifts, smooth, just like new, so my opinion is use either the honda or some kind of 10w-30, doesnt have to be full synthetic
plus i get my oil sent to me i dont have to pay for it, sponsers are great

here are pictures of a gear lube accident, and me installing my f22a6 with a f20b trans

yeah 90w is thick gear oil. They use that in some semi trucks and trailer hubs. The differentials , tranmissions, transefer..etc..yeah I have penzoil 10w30 in mine. had it for about 6 months now. Shifts smooth, no problems

I have a mt, and i put Castrol Syntec 10w30. And after having in there for three months im going to have to change it bc it causes me to grind in every gear now... well mainly third and reverse.. but it's only happened since i put synthetic in there. At my job we actually carry honda MTF, so im gonna get it there. They said i could have it cuz they never sell those services!!!
