ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    F22A4 Exhaust swap?

I got an header and complete exhaust (minus cat) at the junkyard today. I know I need to put the header, but should I throw on the rest of the exhaust and dual pipe muffler? I have a stock F22A1 '93 LX. Thanks

The header you will see gains from. The rest of the exhaust you might, your best bet is to take it to a muffler shop and have them run either 2.5 or 2.25 piping out the back with your choice of a muffler.

The exhaust won't do much, but if it's in better shape than what you have, throw it on there!

So if I am gonna do this, new pipe, my Cat is gonna have to be replaced correct? If so, any leads on where to get a halfway decent priced one? Remember, I'm in CA (weakestfuckingemissionlawstherearefuck).

You can get SS headers downpipe and flexpipe for like 70 bucks off of ebay with a dual 3 inch down pipes. then you can get cat back for like 150. and it comes with the hangers gaskets and bolts. jack you car up and pull you old crap off, put new stuff on. stock headers aren't better then even the ebay SS 4-2-1 headers with dual 3 inch downpipes.

He can't use the ebay stuff, he lives in cali so everything has to pass c.a.r.b

You can put it on, but I second the custom exhaust if that is an option out there.

You can get a nice high flow cat from Magnaflow or Random Technologies. The Random Tech one is the best high flow cat you will find, but they are about $200. Magnaflow would be a good 2nd choice.

as a matter of fact the have a certain cat that these cars were manufactured with specially for cali, look it up at autozone, it will probably run you like 180 or so.. probably more because thats the stock cat price for all other 49 states, but if you get a highflow cat, chances are you wont pass, plus Advanced has a uni cat that i have on my car that got my car to pass, it costed 90 bucks.... in cali you have to weld on some kind of breather hose to it somehow. lol.

Oh well then you will have to get just a cat back that IS CARB legal, if not you will fail inspection.

If a cat is gonna set you back 180+, get one from them. They are 50-state approved. And it flows better than most aftermarket mufflers, as their first page states.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me

Depends on size, but usually around the 275-300ish mark. Check with your emission laws first though.
