ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

what kind of power on stock rods and pistons, f22a1

I am trying to figure out how much power stock f22 pistons and rods can take. I do have arp rod bolts already for my motor along with head studs. What kinda of psi on say a t3/t4 super 60. I do have a legit good tuner to go to too. So what am I looking at with:

F22a1 with a6 cam, h23 intake mani/throttle body, arp stuff, and a mls head gasket. Motor is healthy as well.

I used this turbo on my old civic set up on a built bottom end d16z6. I made close to 250 whp on 15 pounds on a safe tune. Though I didn't get full boost till the end of second gear lol.

    info on turbo:

    Compressor Specs :
    3" Compressor Inlet
    2" Outlet
    6 Blade Wheel
    76.15mm Major
    58mm Minor
    Compressor .50 A.R.
    T4 Compressor Housing
    Turbine Specs :
    T3 Type Turbine
    11 Blade Turbine
    70.80mm Major
    61.90mm Minor
    Turbine .63 A.R.

On a stock block F22a1 you will only be able to push around 8lbs of boost and you should see between 210 an 250. I have seen as much as 280 on an F22b1 VTEC before...i think..

So rods and pistons are crap and the weak point then? that just seems low for some reason. Though I have read that the walls are good to about 400 on a very good tune.

In that case, what brands are half way decent and don't cost 900 dollars for a set of pistons. I know the after market is not that big for f's but damn. I paid like 399 for a set of brand new pistons and about the same for some eagle rods for my old d16.

Actually there is a few people who run 400whp with no problems so far on the stock f22.

yeah.. saying they hold only 8psi... is totally wrong.. 8psi might be the highest safe point for someone whose on a tight budget and cant afford for something to go wrong

but i have personally tuned and pushed stock Fs with over 190k to 15-19psi regions.. and their still running.. (were.. 1 got ripped for full build) the other is down to 10psi due to slipping clutch lol..

as far as how much the rods and piston rings can hold.. is all determined by how its tuned.. how high the EGTs get and driver abuse..

straightedge is a prime example.. 400whp+ on totally stock F.. didnt last much.. maybe a few months doing drag paces.. but if a 400whp stock F can last a few months at 20psi.. what takes away from a 10-12psi F lasting alot longer?

          GET ER DONE

piston/rod setup isnt cheap like ur d16 was..yeah i bet you miss being able to slap some stock vitaras on some eagles and snap 350whp +.. not here boss.. lol..

pauters/carillo/probe(good luck finding em)/scat at one point i think made rods for the F/Crower/B.C

            pistons = arias/cp/wiseco/JE

            IMO CPs or bust..

As stated I know of a really good tuner by me. Couple of 350 whp stock interan b-series that have been healthy for quite some time.

As for beating on it. With my civic I maybe got in 4 good runs in a week, and a couple 2,3 pulls here and there. So I wouldn't be on it constantly. Got to keep some what of a low profile.

I only want to run about 12 pounds on the auto. Then when that gives, find an h22 lsd auto or just 5sp it. It is still going to be my main means of transport, but by the time it is turboed my civic will have another motor in it and it will become my daily. So I should be good.

I need to get out of modified civics, they just attrack way to much negative attention. I was pulled over 11 times last year for b.s. things, not one of them was from speeding, or anything else dangerous.

              rocking the grandma car.
