ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    ECU question

i know theres a thread on here that has all the different models of ECU's but i cant seem to understand what all of the advantages are to each of em, i mean whats the difference between the pt6 and the pt12. I just cant seem to figure that stuff out?
    help?
sorry to make such a useless thread i guess but im curious.

The (Accord) f22a1 and a4 both run off of the pt3.
The f22a6 uses the pt6, it has a slightly different fuel map and possibly timing changes to take advantage of a slightly wilder cam and a higher flowing intake manifold.

    The Prelude S f22a1 uses the p12, which gives a stock f22a1 135 hp as opposed to 125 with a pt3.

I know the results from a search on ecu differences are astronomical.

thats what the beginner forums are for! ask a beginner question (and at least show a genuine interest in the answer) and youll learn something. thats one of the great things about this forum.

and now when someone searches they will find a very clear answer.

does the pt12 come with the dumb speed limitors visualpoet?
And would any modifications need to be done to install that?
Or can i just find a PT12 for a manual tranny and just put it in there?
        it wouldnt mess anything up?

Yes the P12 comes with the smart limiter.

          I don't matter if its for auto/manual.

          ECU controls engine.
          wat?

            oh well,
a fellow member told me it had to be from a manual tranny.
            guess he was wrong.
            Im considering the f22a6 ecu.
because i highly dislike the limitor.
thats just me. i like to play alot.
oh friends rag on me cause i kill em til i hit limitor then its all over for the poor cb7. but im not doing that til i fix the cracked manifold im not sure how it would handle that fast of speeds with a cracked manifold. And this summer once im done with some of the work with cb im gonna try and hit up a drag strip.
            im curious how id do.

do you really need to go faster than 110 in a car thats as old as you?

                wait a minute,
so if id decide to use the pt6
would it hurt the car at all? or would it run like normal,
because i noticed u said it may have a different timing.
wouldnt that cause some trouble on my cb? since i have the f22a1?

it wont hurt the car, no. youll run rich maybe but thats it.

and yes your choice. but the people you can kill when you lose control of your car didnt make that choice. where in pa are you? anywhere near philly? you can get to a track easily if so. just saying.

Chances are with an a1 you will run 16-17's.
2010 Taurus SHO - Livernois Goodies
2002 BMW 330 CI Convertible - HUNK OF JUNK

                            hey bro,
i dont take offense to it man,
i totally see what your saying.
                            your right without a doubt.
im not afraid to admit that im a fool sometimes.
and during the summer is when im gonna run the strip,
ill have the a4 manifold on. And i may pick up a6 camshaft idk yet.
reguardless im not worried about how fast i run.
i just wanna see what it will run.
itll be a fun day, the family and the girlfriend there watchin me run.
thatll be fun without a doubt.

yeah even running a 17 is fun. make 3 passes and if each one is faster than the last its still exciting. no matter what you do there is always a faster car at the track. there were 8 second needle nosed dragsters practicing with teh street cars the last time i went to atco
