ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

No speedo (check engine and D4 blinks). Changed VVS and nothing

I had all the symptoms of the vvs going bad after searching for a while on the site. I decided to replace it even though the guy i bought it from said he replaced it and it didnt help...

I guess he was right it didnt change anything. My speedo stays at zero and the check engine light comes on along with the blinking d4 light. this is a fresh swapped jdm f22a btw.

So what im wondering is what are the chances my TCU is bad? I thought if that were to go I would have worse symptoms cause right now it drives great...?

    Thanks

Did you put a new VSS? If not, i can also be a bad VSS. I had the same problem and symptoms on my auto and it was the VSS.

I would try another VSS. the one you have might be bad.

Did you by chance pull the code? That might help you troubleshoot the problem.

Damn none of the junkyards had the tcu they had all been pulled

Any suggestions? I'm thinking about taking it apart and looking to see if there is any noticeable damage.

Again, have you pulled the error code or are you just randomly replacing parts? If you search on here, you will find the TCU codes which will give you a real good idea on where to start. If your D4 light is blinking, there is a code stored.

X2, sometimes the drive gear of the VSS wears out.

The previous owner already did, I saw his old one sitting in the trunk with another vss on it.

I have 3 vss now so i can pretty much say thats not the problem. But just for shits ill pull that part out and have a look, maybe the guy put it in bad or something.

just incase someone stumbles upon this in a search I found out that the vss and the egr valve plugs were swapped. The previous owner had payed for the engine swap and had been driving around like this for a long time dealing with it. Amazing how something so simple could cause all that. Everythings good now
