ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

1992 Honda Accord LX 5 Speed

I just got my first accord yesterday!! Aside from general maintainance ie... new plugs, oil, air filter, and so forth, is there anything else that is a problem area with these cars? Maybe preventative maintainance suggestions would help me out. I am also having a hard time finding out what the color is. It reminds me of seafoam green. I want to know what the official honda color is. Most appreciated!!

PS the car has 218,000 miles.

TASauto.com is a good site to get replacement rear panels and other parts.

new plugs, oil, air filter, and so forth, is there anything else that is a problem area with these cars?>>>

Fuel filter, P.C. valve, power steering/brake fluids, radiator hoses/heater hoses, timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, w/p seal, oil pump seal, valve cover gasket, C.V. axles, oil pan gasket and rear main seal are all items that I would inspect for leaks/condition and replace if I didn't know the vehicle's previous maintenance history...especially the timing belt.
Look for cracks in the cv axle boots, if they're cracked (but not split open) you can just replace the boots. If you wait or they're already split open, you'll have to replace the axles as the grease leaks out and raod dirt/grime gets inside and chews them up.

Also check the steering rack & pinion for leaks.

Common problem areas are with the distributor, Main Fuel Relay, ignition switch, and ignitor.

In any case, they're typically very reliable cars... especially for their age. You'd be hard pressed to find much else from 90-93 that will get you where you need to go as reliable, economicle, stylish and as trouble free as these cars will (especially beyond 200,000 miles).

I tend to stay clear of engine additives on the shelf, however, I have consistantly heard and read good reviews on Seafoam and also Auto RX.

I want to know what the official honda color is. Most appreciated!!>>>

              Opal Green.

header and intake won't really hurt ur gas milage that much. cbs get around 400 miles to a tank pending drving habits and how much city driving u do. sounds like ur thinkin of puttin money into the car. if so start wit the body. being ur engine is in good shape, keep it that way. the accord is notorious for bein reliable. just the body will give up on faster than u think. rust is like cancer for a car. once tested positive for rust its a long road to recovery. cb7s usually rust right around the back quarter of the car as the coner of the rear bumper meets the body. and all around the rear wheel wells. there is def some options some cheap some pricey. pendin how long u plan to have the car should be how much u should plan to put into it to get it right.

                  the rebuild!
