ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Turbo on a AUTO

i know they said theres no stupid questions on this forum, but i was wondering could you run a turbo set-up on a automatic tranny?

I know you cant run very high boost if you do i would guess the max would be around 4 or 5 psi. But i was wondering if it was possible would the tranny be able to take low boost?

    Possible: Yes.
    Practical: No.

The tranny wouldnt last too long with that much power.

it can be done but you would have to beef the trans up to handle the boost

If you can build the auto transmission , it's possible.

i'd say that on less than 10psi it would hold up okay, the main problem with automatics and hp is heat, you need a good tranny cooler and it would be a good idea to hook up a temporary tranny temp gauge to make sure that when you're hooking up all that power you aren't straining the f*** out of it. although if you drive like a maniac constantly, yeah nothing is gonna last long.

ok Ill bite. There is a member on the forum that is turbo and uses an auto lsd. His set up does over 250 whp maybe 325hp but that is a guess too high. Any who back to the topic. If I were to turbo my auto. I would use the stock radiator cooling. Add a large tranny cooler. Followed by a small electric fan. Also I would keep an eye on the trans temp gauge. Add some type of additive too.

Oh and by the way if say at wot your are at 15 psi and red line 6.5K rpm. THe trans will shift and you should craddle at 2.3-3K. I think if you could cut boost at 6k and gradually boost after the shift your car would be ok. THen again that would be too detailed for the average person. The TCU would def have to be tweaked. Im not smart enough for input output code. Any thoughts ?
