ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

There's thread all about this here. That pretty much goes over all of the stuff you can do. In the end tho it really depends on how far you want to go.

thats true. if your overweight its a good idea to go on a diet. shedding 50lbs of driver weight is better than shedding 50lbs of car weight. mainly because its 50lbs that will also make you healtheir.

it doesn't matter.you could take everything out of a cb exept a drivers seat and they're still heavy as shit.

It is heavy but when you strip "everything" but the drivers seat, its gonna be close to 2300-2200lbs (still drivable)
It is better to concentrate on adding power IMO

What about kentucky accord's car? He got it under or at least right around the 2000 lb. mark.

2000lbs is doable; but don't plan on being able to sell the car if you do this.

You will probably need some aftermarket parts, a carbon fiber hood, lexan, a light seat, some light wheels, and a small battery.

You will need to completely strip the car, remove all sound deadening, cut off all brackets that were holding the parts you removed, remove the rear bumper support, gut the front bumper, get a header and put a light cherrybomb muffler right after the collector, either get a carbon fiber trunk or gut the stock trunk, cut out the trunk bottom(it actually weighs A LOT) and weld some thin sheet metal in there, ditch the center beam and stock crossmember and make your own unit, ditch the dashboard, ditch any wiring you dont need, ditch the stereo, A/C and heater, remove the sunroof if you have an EX, cut/gut all doors besides the drivers door and weld them to the body, get a Civic radiator from a junkyard, remove anything that isnt necessary under the hood, make an aluminum intake manifold, get an 8lbs flywheel, ditch the wipers, you can also do a little more cutting inside and in the engine bay without affecting anything..... all this should definitely bring you down to ~2000lbs

I think it would be cool. Or you could just buy an 89 Civic hatchback and it is already 2000lbs lol

Oh, I know. Just saying that he got that car down to the same weight as a Civic.

It WAS probably pretty unsafe though.

im cutting the door panel sheet metal out too but it is to make room for the cage. so im adding integrity att he expense of weight.

Yeah, that's different, and probably better. I think his goal was just to get the car as light as he possibly could. Nothing wrong with it, but if he ever got into an accident, it could've gotten ugly.

And kind of getting off topic, but what's the status on your project car?
