ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Can anyone with the autos and an H22 tell me if you can manually hold the gears longer to rev out the H22s? Say if I went with an F22 tranny and manually held the gears can I rev it out to 8000 instead of the F22 tranny shifting at like 6200?

yeah as long as the engine's redline is higher, you can manuall hold the gears, like from 1-2-3-4 all the way to redline and bypass the TCM.

Thank you-Awesome so if I go with a CROME tuned from a local tuner (for the H22) we can tune the engine (ECU) and redline and I can take advantage of the lower final drive in the F22 auto tranny for lower revs on the highway and if I need to boogie I can manually hold the gears.!

yea you can do that but that is adding more stress to the f-series trans since it is not ment to rev that high . though I did that to I have an h22 auto but I have my stock f-series auto trans ( I have an mp0a waiting)I held it in gear when I was messing around

I have the sport option on this one, and I was going to add a large external cooler as well. I don't abuse cars but if I need to I like to know I can hold gears to rev out the H22

sport option or not, you rev that thing into h22 redline territory too many times and you're gonna be in the market for a new trans pretty soon.

Hahah I am not a kid. Pushing 40 now and I've had alot of cars. Civics with swaps, GSRs, BMW 540s, Subaru STIs to name a few. I am not tracking this car (91 LX 4 door, auto) not dragging this car and certainly not entertaining any ideas its going to be a speed machine. I want more punch than 127 hp and the H22 is so easy its a shame not to do it.

I wanted more info on the f22 trans and whether or not the H22 and F22 trans (auto) has been done. If it blows... it blows and I get another trans. I never had any trans failures with a well maintaned tranny despite track days and many many autocrosses with my swapped and turbo'd civics and Integras. Auto or 5 speed. I do all of my own wrenching (and for alot of my friends) and so far I have not blown anything up after almost 25 cars I've owned and probably hundreds I've modded for others. I want to build a safe, fast and comfy car that doesn't rev to 4000 rpms on the highway at 80 mph.

This tranny, owned by an elderly couple and maintained by a dealer, shouldn't give me problems with a good external cooler and proper fluid changes. I want this car for a fast highway car /cruiser that if I need to feed some speed-I can surprise the unexpecting newer cars if need be and use it for work between PA and MD.

Thanks for the tips though-there seems to be alot of knowledge on this site without alot of attitude like a few other sites I am on.

Has anyone experienced a tranny failure on here with an F22 (auto) and H22 swap set-up?

I was thinking about doing that, since my F22 Auto trans just rebuilt but the H22 trans has shorter gears so it'd be better for accel.

Even on the highway, I'm at about 3000 Rpm at 70mph, so its not bad at all. about 3500 for 80mph. I've also got a Magnaflow muffler and it doesnt drone bad at all, its livable for a DD.

Im about to put on a leftover H22a tranny on my F22a1 that I had from a year ago. I only wonder if it chirps 2nd. I would be highly moisturized if it did. And to set the record straight...I would never in hell hook an F22a tranny to an H22a. First reason is you will have to get the H22a TCU to be able to get the full potential from it and from experience that H22a TCU doesnt like the F22a tranny that much. It wants to shift at like 2k and you will have to floor it to make it go anywhere really. Second that F22a TCU is going to shift you at around 6k rpms. However I am going to be using the F22a TCU on my H22a tranny because I have an F22a. I guess the I can make a new CB7 rule...use the TCU that matches your ECU.

3500 at 80mph ? Hmm not bad at all I guess afterall. Someone with an H22 tranny told me they were at 4000+ at 80 mph?

Also I think I may try the F22a tranny and TCU with the H22 swap to see how I like it. I know I can manually hold gears to the H22 redline and keep the lower (numerical gearing) for relaxed highway cruising.
