ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

From what I understand, all H and F series transmissions are interchangeable. So, an F series auto or manual will fit on an H series motor, and vice-verse.

Yep yep..got that much but specifically I was wondering how the auto F22 gearing works with the H22. Highway revs, acceleration etc.

How is your acceleration and what revs are you getting on the highway? How did the H23 TCU differ from the F22 TCU? Notice anything?

Not too sure about that, haven't ever driven one with an F series trans on it.

You will have longer gear with the Auto F22, = slower acceleration, an H22 with a f22 auto tranny is slower in the 1/4 miles vs H22 with Auto H22 tranny. One good thing about the longer gearing of the Auto F22 tranny is it great for Turbo, you can stay in boost longer. The H22 auto tranny has shorter gearing and help accelerate faster.

I have a JDM h22 with AUto H22 LSD tranny stock. at high way speed 75mph+ in D4 i'm at 3.8krpm.
from what I gather the highway rev with the F22a auto will be lower just like normal F22ax engine, so you shoul be around 3k at 75mph I belive.

these are some great q's, ive been lurking on this thread
ive been thinking about the h22 with an auto transmission
does this make the car a better cruizer?

or should i stay and rebuild the a6?

it is a 60hp difference but i could pick up half of that with surporting mods to the a6
              what would be better?

HOW in the world did you get your's to Chirp second gear in an Auto? Mine I don't think does that and I've got the POF TCM that shifts at 7K rpm. Mine ALSO goes outta VTEC when it shifts too, which is kinda disappointing. Do you think it could be dirty trans fluid? It seems to shift fine and all, but I'm just jealous your Auto H22 does stuff mine doesnt.

Oh I've got the H22 Auto w/ the MP0A trans.

I did it in my old 93 Civic LX before, just depends on how hard you slam from one gear position on the selecter to the other and how your throttle control is.

true, I've got some sticky 17s w/ BFG ZR rated tires, so it would probably do it w/ the all season 195s I bet. I'm just bummed that I have to manually shift it for it to stay in VTEC from 1st to 2nd gear. I thought me buying the POF TCM would have solved that, but it just makes it shift at 7K RPM which drops it down to about 4800 when it shifts into second.

Auto h22 with the MP0A, chirped second until the torque converter started to slip, i use the p0n accord siR TCU and i shift out at 7600 and never fall out of vtec if its floored. i like the setup a lot.

                          PM sent

I dont know why it falls out of VTEC when it shifts into 2nd maybe the gearing was set like that?

Mine shifts at around 7200-7300 rpm.

Oh, I don't play with the gear selector, that's just dumb to me, and wastes shift time

I just floor the throttle and let the 'box do the swapping.

                            <<<<<H22a MP1A LSD-Auto right here.

                            and it fuckin rocks.

it would of course rock even harder if it had a stick but im not complaining at the moment.

i got a 15.63@90mph in the 1/4mile my first time out with an intake as the only mod.

it launches like shit as my 60foot time can attest to. but as soon as you get some revs behind it WATCH OUT.

if i launched it harder and risked more damage to my tranny then this thing would easily be in the low 15's. pretty much dead on as far as h22 equipped preludes go.

i bought the car with the auto already in it. but as soon as i find the cash im dumping it for a stick.

ninja edit: i can chirp second ALL day with it.

Where did you find a SiR TCU? What are the shift points?

I was thinking since I do alot of highway driving, and my wife my use the car for around town driving of staying with the auto and using the (H22) with F series auto with an H23 TCU? Anyone want to venture a guess on how this would perform and drive?

I really don't want 4000 rpms at 75 mph. My GSR did that and it was great around town but would beat on you on the highway.

what TCM do you run? I thought I bought the correct one but it shifts kinda early to me, like at only 7K
