ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    lucas oil additive

hey i was just surfing through the site and ive noticed that theres alot of people that complain about valve tick. i tried using lucas oil additive and it seems to work great i virtually cant even hear the valves in the morning anymore and it seems to have slowed down my leak as well, that stuff sure is thick coming out of the bottle!!

im not a fan of any engine oil additive. hondas have valve tick. its not really a bad thing. just adjust your valves

Getting valves adjusted is pretty cheap. Why try and get a cheaper fix that can cause damage to the motor in the long run, those additives look like gunk coming out the bottle imagine what it turns into in your engine while the oil its trying to lubricate.

          Just my 02.

I've been riding with an oil pan gasket leak for a while, I just make sure I add proper amount of oil until I can get it fixed, still I won't add any leak fix stuff.

Thats not totally true. I worked for Honda for quite a few years as a tech. Yeah they don't recommend it, yet they put additives(fuel and oil) when you have any of the major services done at the dealer, and the additives are from different companies, not Honda, because Honda no longer produces it's own fluids. I personally recommend lucas additives, it is really 1 of the best products out there. Some dealerships even use it with their maintenances.

You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

I found that they add more life to your existing fluids - i have used the tranny fix product from lucas with great results - going to add some of the oil additive for my GF's ride. She has the valve tick as well : /. need to get in there this weekend to adjust

changing the fluid is pretty easy just get a jack and jack it up you will see a drain plug and a fill plug on the tranny, if u have a haynes manual it will tell u exactly where they are but yea it recommends just 10w30 oil but if u go to honda theres special synthetic stuff u can put in.

my 3rd gear grinds, threw some Pennzoil Syncromesh in there and cleaned that up real good. a few people on here use other brands of syncromesh, made for like GM or such.

and do i drain and refill or just throw some in?
