ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

so I search and still don't know what a head job is comprised of...help

So I'm out looking for parts car to strip down and then crush when I come across a 93 ex that needs a head job for $250. Im thinking wow if I can just complete the work on this one I can have two cb7 and still continue to search for one to use for parts.

Im a noob when it comes to complex repairs on vehicle so can someone shar the average cost to repair/replace heads and if I can do it myself what's the degree of difficulity? In addition the car needs a hood and left front fender but im not too concern with that right now

by the way I have a 1990 LX

A head job consists of removing cylinder head, taking it to a machine shop, having it milled, replace any damaged or worn valves, replacing valve guide seals, repair valve seats(if needed) and/or springs and retainers, reinstalling it on your engine with a new head gasket. It's a good idea to replace the head bolts when you reinstall it.

I can't give you and acurate price, it break down to what you need, idk if you need valves or springs, but here's my best best guesstimate based on N.Y.C. pricing off the top of my head.
        1. 280.00 for the head gasket kit(head gasket, intake manifold gasket, valve guide seals, cam seal, valve cover gasket) Honda dealer.
        2. 150.00 machine shop fee to recondition cylinder head.
        3. labor???? are you doing the work or is someone doing it for you?
