ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i was in the same situation as this guy. replaced the igniter. replaced the coil. replaced the starter. replaced the battery. nothing. i was about to give up and have it towed. i remembered reading that stupid thing about how coke cleans battery terminals and i decided to try it. 1 can of coke 2 paper towels and a few curse words later and the car was running. and i was out 300 bucks from buying new parts that i didnt need! i even jumped the car beforehand. it would only start with a push start. there is no doubt in my mind that it was the battery cables.

Thanks man im going to try to that today. If my ecu was bad could the motor still turn? and could this problem lead to something with the timing belt

if the ecu was bad the motor would still turn yes. the cel will be solid when you jump the service connector as well. look for a blue plug under the dash on the passenger side and put a paperclip in it connecting the two holes. then turn your key to II and watch the cel. it will flash out a code. check the sticky thread in the technical forum for details on that.

if the timing belt has snapped you have more problems than a car that wont start. pull your valve cover off and look if you think thats the case. easy enough to do

            ecu fuse

just pull out the ecu fuse, disconnect the battery and then wait like 10 min.

go back hook up ecu fuse and connect battery!

            hopefully you tried this!

that will clear any fixed error codes in the ecu but it wont fix any problems

yeah. the car is at my house. ive been wrenching on it to see what the problem could be. i told him to go to the junk yard and get a dizzy off a car up there. the 2 he brought to me had auto zone "remanufactured" parts in it. probably the main reason why it didnt have any spark.

i pulled the ECU plug too. still nothing. still no spark. im sending him to the junk yard to get a used dizzy with no new or reman. parts in it. ill see if that'll work.

make sure your spark plugs aren't covered in oil.
