ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Do you have a 5 speed or an automatic? If it's an auto, check the plugs for your tcu. If it's a five speed, I can't imagine that it's related to the ECU.

That's what I was going to say, I wouldn't think the ecu would have anything to do with the gears, either way.

I don't have any experience with the auto, but since the xCUs are next to each other, the only thing I can think is something happened during the swap. Maybe the plugs wiggled out or one of the wires popped out of the harness.

The ECU shouldn't have any effect on the TCU...

However, just in case... did the P12 come from an automatic or manual Prelude?

I assume your car is automatic... as this makes no sense if it's manual.

My car seemed like it shifted slightly higher and harder after my P12 install. No idea why. Mine is a 93 auto. It shifts fine, though. I THINK my ECU is from a manual. (Don't quote me on that, I'll have to check.)

It's possible that there's a malfunctioning TPS circuit on the ECU, and that'd have a slight effect on the shift points of the TCU. The detent (kickdown) cable has the most influence, but shift points/firmness are also determined electronically.

I wonder if the Prelude shift points are different... the Prelude S TCU might be something to consider as well!

Sucks I haven't had an F22A1 in my car for nearly 6 years now... it doesn't really apply to me.

Well i have been running my 93 auto for a while now with -12 and have not had this problem. So I suggest pulling the ecu/tcu fuse, and checking the install one more time.

Sounds like an electrical issue, unfortunately. Make sure all the connections are there/snug, and if everything looks good, you might have a bad ECU on your hands, though I hope not.
