So if I decide to turbo my F what would be a good setup. Keep in mind I've never put together a turbo setup and am somewhat illiterate. But I've heard DSM manifolds and injectors swap. Is this true? I found a mazdaspeed 6 turbo with 10,000 miles for like 150$. Would this be decent? Any info would be great. Thanks guys.

Good turbo setup?

I have a few friends in my town who play with turbocharged acuras with B18A motors, and I asked them if it was possible to turbo an F22, and they said the only way to prevent the fuel system from leaning out is to use a piggyback computer system, cause there are no aftermarket computer stuff for stock CB7's that they know of. I wanted to turbo my CB7, but they said even if I used bigger CC injectors the computer would still alow the system to lean out. If you haev anymore questions I could ask my friends cause they are really into turbos and they can burn there own computer chips.

If you want good advice on turbo setups i suggest you check out the Performance Tech thread it has everything to do with forced induction and N/A. Good choice on boosting the F. I have a F22A6 that i'll be boosting sometime next year. Also i wouldn't worry about the lean out thing there are other stock ecu's that can be chipped and tuned properly. There's guys on this forum making over 300hp with they're turbo F's. Me im going for 280whp.

With proper datalogging equipment (wideband o2 sensor, egt sensor, etc...) and a modified P06 ECU, you can tune a turbo F22A very easily. Well... once you know what you're doing (that's the difficult part, learning how to tune)
But yes, your friends are right that the stock computer won't work. You simply cannot boost a CB7 without some sort of fuel management. A piggyback works, but not all that well. A standalone, or modified tunable ECU are the best routes.
As for the Mazdaspeed 6 turbo... I don't know anything about it. I know the car puts out 270hp from a 2.3L engine, so I wouldn't think that the turbo would be too small.
However, keep in mind that the chances are slim that it'll bolt up to the DSM manifold. You're going to need some custom work to be done... It MAY work, but it's unlikely.

Just get Hondata and be done with it....that would be the BEST bet. If you want to be cheap, FMU. Not the best way, but it will work to an extent.
Get at least 450cc DSM injectors, Evo 3 exhaust manifold, at LEAST a 14b but if you're wanting the best of the best get an MHI 16g. Port it out, 3 inch downpipe, 3 inch exhaust. Walbro 255 fuel pump and a AFPR. AFPR is a must...you'll overrun your stock regulator. Make sure to get a GOOD boost gauge - Autometer preferably. The cheap shit will not be calibrated right. Best thing to do is read read read. Knowledge is power.VIP Status.

Like I said, I'm somewhat illiterate. My plan was to get another head and mani and port and match them to pick up a lil power for NOW and then turbo it a little later. I was looking for an F22 head and this guy had an F23 block with F22 head on it. He said they are alot better. He also has the dizzy, mani, injectors, etc. Is it true the F23 bottom ends are better? He's only asking 150$ for everything so I'm thinkin I might go get it to play with. But all these other terms:P06 ecu- Is this a factory ecu or is it an aftermarket replacement? AFPR?

dsm is a great choice for a low budget build. If you want the best go with the BIG 16g turbo, the stock log manifold would get you by but I would suggest picking up a ramhorn design for better heat dissipation. My setup is pulling about 440hp on pump gas, along with all the extra power you put in you also wanna make sure you update or upgrade all your other systems on your car, steering, braking etc.. Its not just for safety but it will also help your car use the power gained mor efficiently. I would suggest hondata too, it is far less expensive then other alternatives and gives a good setup for tuning. Do some more research, if you got any more questions hit me back

that can be true but if you buy a qualiity piece the welds are done right and you wont have any problem with that. Even if you buy a shitty ebay one you could allways mount supports or weld brackets or something if you were really worried. I would be more worried about my engine frying then the mani, so def go with ramhorn. 92 vigor eh? I used to love the old legends, good cars.

Dont waste your time with that swap. I'd buy it for 150 though, Its not any stronger. If I knew what was done to it I might be able to tell you if it has got any increased power potential. How many miles on it anyway? I'd pick it up just for fun, I like to screw around with things like that though, you might not

Well here's my thinking: My cb is my dd so it's not like I can just park it and tear into it. I was going to find a head and mani to port and flow so that I could just swap it onto MY motor and pick up a lil power. But I ran into this F23 for a little more than what I'd spend on a head. The guy says the F23 with F22 head makes better power than F22. So I figured I could play around with THIS and get it ready to put in my car. That way I'm only out of a car for a few days and I'll be up and running with a more powerful setup.
