ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

Apexi WSII and WS Universal difference question.

I have been around the forum for a little while and have not posted but have seen the amount of recommendations that Apexi's World Sport Mufflers have received for our chassis. I am not exactly rolling in money, I was browsing Apexi's website and noticed that they offer a vehicle specific WSII System (Cat-back System) AND a Universal WS. I am curious what the difference is with these.

LINKS: WS UNIVERSAL WSII Vehicle Specific

I realize that the universal is only the muffler and not the cat-back system so as it relates to simply the mufflers, what is the difference?

I see that the 90-93 Accord specific WSII System utilizes 60mm inlet and a 100mm tip, while the NA Universal utilizes a 60mm inlet and 105mm tip.

On the page for the Universal the site points out that "This muffler is a straight through design on all applications." Is the CB specific muffler straight through?

Hopefully I have not overloaded your mind with all of my questions, I just want to make sure that I do not spend the money on a Apexi exhaust and find myself disappointed because I tried to go the cheaper route.

IF I were to go the Universal route, I would have a local exhaust shop fabricate a cat-back piping to be used with the Apexi muffler.

My CB is barely modded from stock, SRI w/ K&N Filter, and currently a fart can welded onto the stock exhaust piping. This is my Daily so I am looking to bring the exhaust noise down and hopefully remove all of the rasp. Besides wheels, SRI and a new exhaust that will be the end of this build for probably a while, as funds are simply not there right now, nor will they be when I head off to college.

    Thanks for your help!

from what i read, they made the WS as cat-backs only until the WSII came out, so from then on they started selling the WS as just a muffler, and the WSII are being sold as cat-backs.. so the universal one is the original WS.. not the WSII.

Just a bit of advice...if you are going after that nice "quiet" sound of the Apexi WSII then get the full catback for your Accord. i have tried the other route and you WILL be disapointed!

Just doing the muffler and purchasing your own pipe and resonator just dont quite cut it....I have tried this every which way possible and it still sounds like crap...

..so def go for the full catback system...or spend a couple extra dollars and get the RS*R full catback system and you will not be disappointed!

Nitrous is like a hot chick with a STD..... you know you wanna hit it, but you are afraid of the consequences.....

Universal - one size fits all

Vehicle specific - built specifically for the car , not universal.

You're better off with the cat-back system since the piping are larger than the factory pipes.
