ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    which gear am I in?

    Hi guys,

I'm in the process of changing trannies outside, in the rain, right f***ing now!!

I have a question: I put the car in reverse before pulling the trans out. I don't know what gear the other one is in once I put it in... any advice?

tranny is almost out... everything on top is done, I need to remove the suspension parts underneath, then the tranny bolts and out she comes.

5 spd I assume? It would be really hard for me to explain through words, but are you familiar w/ the typical Honda "going into reverse" sound (sounds funny, I know)? Go through all the gears by hand and you will def. figure out which is reverse, it will make that high pitched clunk unlike gears 1-5.

It shouldn't matter what gear it is in. Hook up the shifter cables to their respectable spots and go.

it will be in what ever gear the shifter says its in once u get it back in the car. but if u want, just spin the input shaft by hand while goin thru the gears and watch where the axles go. one of those gears will make it start turning the other direction. hope that made sense.

I always just put the tran in neutral no specific gear. Either way just hook up the linkages right and it will show you which gear it is usually in.

            A ok

            Amen,

Got the tranny installed today, everything is working fine... Like y'all said, hook up the cables and the rest will take care of itself.

Thanks for the help guys, I managed to remove and reinstall a tranny in 48 hours, in the rain!!!

            again thanks!

^nice! When I installed my M2B4, I found it best to have the tranny in the reverse gear, it was a really tight squeeze w/ the clutch hardline.
