ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Boosted f22

I have a f22 that was rebuilt pretty recently, and I've been reading a lot about boosting it. How many pounds would you say is safe and still gonna be reliable for a stock f22(stock rebuild)? I've seen some people saying 8 lbs., but I want to hear from some people who have actually done it. What kind of gains should I expect? Will I keep up with h22 cb7's? Thats really all I want. I have a buddy with a h22 cb7.....and I'd love to smoke him with a f22. That would just kill him...lol. Thanks

8lbs is about standard on a stock F22A. 10lbs can be done. If your motor is freshly rebuilt, with good parts (and done properly) then it may be able to take more... but I wouldn't risk more than 10lbs if you want it to last.

Of course, this depends greatly on what turbo you use. If you use a little hairdryer like a 14b, or worse, a t25, you're going to be blowtorching your motor at 10psi. Don't get a small turbo. Something along the lines of a t3/t04 hybrid is best (trim and specific details are up to you). It'll be safest for the motor, and it'll also make more power. It does cost more, though (but less overall than blowing up that new motor would cost you!)

TUNING is most important. You MUST tune a turbo motor. Without question. You can get it running on a basemap, but that is not meant for regular driving, and certainly not for hard driving. It's meant to get it to a tuner, and then tuned properly. My ECU is tuned because the guy that paid to have MRX flown out to Philly blew his motor, and I slipped into his timeslot

The general rule of thumb is that turbo will generate 10hp for every pound of boost. So, 8psi = 80hp. Now, that's highly dependent on many factors... it can vary greatly. However, if you gain 80hp over the F22A, you'll be putting down more power than the H22A. Torque will be significantly more as well... turbo torque KILLS NA torque. The only ways you're going to lose against a stock H22A is if you can't drive, you can't get traction, or you break something.
