ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    ECU code questions

I pulled the codes off of my ECU on my 90 accord F22A1 and have a couple of questions. I got a 7 code followed by multiple 17 codes ( I stopped counting them at 13 )
Does a code set itself just once or multiple times

Can the first code set off others?

Should I have waited to see if any more codes came up?

shouldn't duplicate codes, sure it wasn't just 17 over and over and the 7 was a mistake? that would make more sense.
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

So you have a code 7 (TPS)

Then through 17 more codes? or a code 17 (VSS)

      3 CB's gone....
      1 WK Overland....

Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

It sounds to me that he's saying one code 7, and then repeating code 17.

Souds to me that it's probably JUST the code 17. Either you're not counting the first flash, or it's doing it in a strange way.

I'd replace both sensors just to be safe. Never hurts to have new stuff on your car... or at least junkyard parts (the TPS is held on by headless screws... use a hacksaw to cut notches in them... you do not have to replace the entire throttle body as many people believe. It must be properly calibrated, though.)

OK 1 code 7 and at least 13 code 17's stopped counting them at 13 times on the code 17. Don't know about the first flash you mention deervergote. I jumpered the plug then turned on the key so I wouldn't miss any because I haven't do that to this car before.
As for the TPS calibration do you mean if I use used TPS? Get a hack saw in there? I can't get my hand in there with my multimeter probes to test the damn thing. Which has me ask. The manual says to probe the inner and 1 of the outer terminals on the TPS and crack the throttle to read the resistance on the TPS. Anyone know a different way cuz I don't have go go gadget arms.
All of this is in following one of the threads from one of the big dogs on here trying to fix my damn erratic idling problem. Could the VSS cause erratic idle?
