So to start off, my car runs perfect in the summer and hates the winter. The car has always made a grinding noise when starting, and I just went on with life because it always fires up. However when the winter comes the car barely starts when it gets cold out. IF the car is warm it will fire up though. It takes a little to get it going in the cold but it eventually goes after a minute of trying.
I went to Autozone to check out my battery and alternator. They both checked out in perfect condition. The guy heard me start the car and said that grinding noise is likely my starter and that the reason it starts hard in the cold could be that problem. Is this viable?
And pics of where the starter is and how to replace it would be needed. Is it an easy task?
Thank you and I hope it's not troublesome.. Thanks.
