ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Still have bouncing idle problems.

Ok so I read most of the 43,000 posts on bouncing, searching, erratic, idle and here's what I have done so far.

    1. tightened up & cleaned FITV

    2. Cleaned IACV. Tested for resistance. Showed 11 Ohms. Don't know how to test for continuity.

    3. Cleaned EGR Valve

    4. Cleaned Throttle Body

    5. Bled Coolant twice

    6. Adjusted throttle cable

    7. Sprayed everything I could get to with carb cleaner to check for vaccum leaks. Found none.

    8. Pinched every vaccum line I could find and pinch. No change in anything.

At this point I am lost so any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Check or removed the air booster valve. its the only other thing on the intake manifold besides the iac and fiv. I had an issue with that thing and it was making my idle bounce around all over the place.

How do I check it. Just re checked my FITV by taking the cover off and air was sucking thru like wild. Won't tighten down anymore. Is this normal?
Wait, just re read this thread,http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=65668 and i need to retest properly to see if it is the FITV. Did not let car warm up to see if it seals up. Did not have to push down on plunger to check air flow cuz it was sucking thru all on it's own. Is this good or bad?

I dunno if this helps, but on mine this line was plugged, I dunno why, but when I took it off, the bouncy idle (at a stop or park) went away.

Btw, this is lilb_1979's engine bay, just used it to show what I'm talking about.

Add to the list of things done, Seafoam job. Still idling up & down. The FITV sucks air from cold start without pushing in the plunger and doesn't stop so I think I will find one and try that. Hoping to avoid the big intake gasket R&R. Dont think it's leaking but don't know what else to try.

              Anyone got any more ideas?

                Good news

Finally the idling problem on my car is fixed. After I tested and checked everything on the car I got a used FITV and damn if it didn't fix it.

Bad news is that the FITV I bought leaks coolant under pressure from the coolant bowl gasket. I guess I'm gonna take the O ring from the old FITV and put it on the newer one and hope it works because I have never seen a flat O ring like that before. Will report back on that.

Changed out the O ring on the FITV and the leak is stopped. Now I still have the damn erratic idle but now it goes between 800 and 1500 rpms. There is a round canister with a cable coming from the firewall to it on the left front corner of the engine compartment and when I touch it the idle starts bouncing. then goes away. When the fans come on the idle starts bouncing then goes away.
                  Any ideas.

I have a bouncing idle when my car is at the light and sometime it just happen randomly. I found out that my Coolant was about 10% left. I fill it up to the top and the problem is gone. I found this out after fixing almost everything on your list.

Check your coolant level and other fluid level

under the throttle body that sensor well depends on the motor so f22 have it on the throttle body right under it replace that sensor has 2 coolant lines going to it or on the intake manifold the one right next to the vacuum that opens the butterflies for top end speed but it should 2 coolant lines going to it with a gold looking top replace that if will solve your problem
NO matter how many times we downshift vtec is on our side.
