ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Custom ITBs - DIY in progress!

Im new to this forum, but I have been on HT, Accordinglydone, D-series.org, etc. for years. Eventually this will be a full write-up, but for now I am limited to this beginner section.

Maybe this isnt my best option, but because I spend almost 20 hours per week in the Tech training build at school, Im going to attempt to build my own intake manifold/ITB setup. My college has a complete machine shop, and I have approval to use the schools equipment. Im basically just giving a friend (who is in machining classes) the design and measurements. I figure Ill use CAD to do the main flange, and use some aluminum tubing for the runners, and some modified bike throttle bodies. (Spaced appropriately unlike most set ups)

So techincally im just making an intake flange with the cnc machine. The idea stems from seeing all of the ghetto ITB setups using a chopped stock manifold, some radiator hose, and stock bike ITBs. Also from seeing Pirate Mcfred's adaptor flange.

I figure it would be better to have the runners perpendicular(when viewed from above) rather than tapered in like the stock mani and the ghetto ITBs.

I will take plenty of pictures of the process, but before I get started I need a tracing of an OEM F22A IM flange! I dont have one here to measure from other than an extra B1 IM. I could get a gasket, but it wouldnt give me accurate outer dimensions. This is where you guys come in! If somebody was willing to trace their stock unit for me it would be greatly appreciated! Or if anyone has a better idea let me know!

so you are wanting the outer dimensions or a outline of it? i have one sitting in my garage floor right next to the door

Karl- you are right, but Im ordering one of Bisi gaskets in a month or so when I order my level 3 cam. YEEEAH! But from some of the pics, it looks like the gasket doesnt extend to the edges of the IM.

Slick- Ill try to find a picture of exactly what I need from the IM. I saw a thread on HT where a guy made his own tranny adapter plate by using tracings of the block and tranny. Kind of like when you were a kid and you would put a leaf under your paper and run your pencil or crayon over it sideways. Did anyone else ever do that or do I sounds nuts? Ha

remmeber to shoot towards the back of the intake valve, kinda like setting up your nitrous jets.
