ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

That is pretty lame customer service.

Nonetheless, he's probably right about exhaust shops having 'em. The other thing to try would be to take the header off the downpipe and see if you can replace the gasket with something else.

As I remember, the gaskets usually soft aluminum o-rings that you could probably find at a hardware store. If not, you could try shaving a gasket to fit out of bulk gasket paper/metal.

Good luck with it. You'll probably need some creativity if the muffler shops can't help you.

i bought this for my f22 header and it lasted like a week. The only thing i could think of would be a muffler shop if there is one in your location. if not take ur gasket to advance and tell them to match it up. they matched mine to a probe/626 motor and it work perfect til i got my new header

if you think you could reuse your old gasket, i'd try.

but when i installed my megan racing header for the F22, i just used the copper sealant by itself and it's never leaked on me, yet.

thats where a cutting torch would come in handy..
or you could remove the motor. but why would you want to change the header AFTER fixing it

It is a bitch and a half to get out. When I did my F22B swap one of the bolts that connect the header to downpipe froze up and another broke in half (bottom and top broke off so I had a piece of the bolt locking the header and down pipe together )we had to pull the header as one piece while maneuvering the engine out. NOT fun!

Leave your old gaskets in there. Go to orchard and get some copper shim stock. Cut out a gasket to fit the flange and sandwich it in there.

i blew my megan gasket since i didnt have my header bolted down all the way. i took it to an exhaust shop and he put some red goop on the gasket and no problems since. (this was over a year and half ago)

People around here work on their cars a lot.

I've had my header off countless times this year and I never would've foreseen the need to have it off.
