cluster goes crazy help!

so while im driving today my radio goes on and off then i look at my cluster and my rpm needle goes crazy for like a second so i pull over and rev the enine and it doesnt move, but when i turn my lights off the rpm guage works just fine does anyone have any idea of what could this be?

the ignitor or external coil could be going bad. i have the same issue. lol.



when the RPM needle go crazy, does the car's performance mess up also?

not sure i was parked and rev'd it just doesnt move but when i turn my headlights off it works, i never messed aroun wit the wirin or notin like that

Mine did this too.
It was about 2 weeks ago.
But, it hasn't done it since.

i guess ill just have to drive it around some more and check if it still does it

could be your alternator or your battery going bad, my alternator connection was loose so i connected it good and it got fixed.

I been thru this myself, check the negative cable off the battery, it splits in 2, 1 part grounds to the chassis, the other end to the engine. mine separated at the split. If that's not it check the the grounds by the thermostat housing if the bolt is loose, it will cause the same condition as the negative cable.
