ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Cost effective manifold replacement

1993 Honda Accord EX 4 dr Sedan, 2.2L 5 sp. manual. Need to replace the exhaust manifold it looks like. I've heard a lot about getting a quality replacement, so I figured while I'm at it I might as well get something other than an OEM. Any suggestions? Would like to keep it under $200... not looking for something great, but something decent would be nice.

Just get a f22a4 manifold from a junkyard. There is not much you can do going aftermarker for under $200.

Well, I could go higher, depending, but I'm extremely strapped for cash ATM. I'm trying not to re-max out my credit card; I could probably go 300, 350, but that'd be pushing it.

Unless you are looking to spend $1000 or more on a header, just get a f22a4 and wrap it. There will be hardly any gain on mostly any after market header, (dc sports, megan). If you have a lot of money to spend, you can get a bisimoto header and see nice gains. If you don't want to spend that much money, stick to the a4 header.

I agree, on a budget the OEM a4 manifold/header flows very well for the cost. You could spend the extra on a DC Sports (I did), but your gains of that over the a4 tubular manifold are minimal on stock internals.

It looks like I spoke too soon... the problem is in the tubing under the manifold. *sigh*.

What do you mean the tubing under the manifold? Just check some junkyards and find the header and downpipe. If you cant find the header and downpipe at a junkyard, just get something like this for cheap. Its almost the same as the a4 design. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-93...=p4506.c0.m245

Upon further examination (I'm under the car now) its the pipe that connects to the catalytic converter

Yup, the down pipe, you need that too. I got mine from craiglist, lookout for ex-r part-out cars, much better condish than jy. I don't think I've seen one that's not annihilated.

Thanks for all the help so far; I'm hoping once I get it off (the bolts are rusted, my friend determined that taking a Sawzall to it is the best way to get it off) it'll be JB Weldable... if not, how much should I expect to pay for one?

I think I paid $40 for mine. US guys should get it cheaper.
