ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Axel Replacement 1992 Accord LX Passenger Side?

Hi there, thanks all for helping figure out what model my car is! Much Thanks Goes Out to all the CB7 Lovers out there!

I was driving.......took a right turn......CV shaft broke I was wondering if anyone has some info on this such as how to replace the axel with somewhat normal hand tools, and if anyone might know why it broke? My car is stock with no aftermarket mods done to the engine! is this a common problem?

Thanks again for your support and suggestions!

1992 Honda Accord LX 4 Door Auto.

after a while axles do break.. what i did to change my axles was drop the upper control arm which u can do with a socket wrench. but 1st unbolt the big socket in the middle of your rotor which is screwed onto the axle.. then pull it out lol..

r u talking about a ratchet wrench or a ratchet and socket beacuse a socket is one tool and a wrench is another there is no socket wrench that i am aware of.

aside from that i rented a 36mm socket and a pickle fork. break the nut free before u even loosen the lug nuts. u will need to unstake the nut(there is usually a tab that u have to pry away from the nut and axel before it will turn) then get a breaker bar(or 1/2 drive ratchet) and a floor jack handle put the handle on the breaker bar and lift up or stand on it to break it free.after that jack up the car take wheel off then remove tie rod end with pickle fork and the lower control arm from the bottom of the knuckle(what ur rotor and coil spring are attached to) use the pickle fork for this as well. then there is a pinch fork that holds ur strut it has a bolt at the top(14mm) and the bottom(17mm nut and bolt) remove these and take pinch fork out. now use a chisel for leverage and put it inbetween the tranny and the driveaxel and separate them after that u pull the knuckle up and off lower control arm pull away from the car and remove axel . put a significant amount of automotive grease on both ends of new axel the rest is reverse of removal
